At Summer Springboard we believe learning should be inspiring and interactive. We have worked hard to design courses, field trips and guest lectures that reflect the resources of the Los Angeles area. Whenever possible, classes are held outdoors, on-site or in a lab-type setting to allow students as many ’hands on’ opportunities as possible.
Each afternoon we break out into small groups based on your academic program. During this time, students will dive deep into a specific subject area with creative, dynamic instructors, engaging professors and professional experts. Field trips and guest speakers take the learning experience beyond the classroom and leverage all that Los Angeles has to offer.

The Summer Springboard campus in Los Angeles will be near the immediate area of the main UCLA campus.
Due to Covid restrictions, we are not able to stay in the UCLA dormitories. Instead, students will stay in upgraded, luxury student apartments located 25 minutes off campus (private shuttle service will be provided). These dormitories feature suites with three or four single rooms connected to a common room and two bathrooms. The complex includes a swimming pool, hot tub, barbecue area, a fitness room, and multiple lounges for hanging out and relaxing. Summer Springboard will take over an entire block of the complex to ensure proper supervision and to deliver our planned activities with the students.
Your Resident Advisor (RA) will live close by to create a community, provide support, plan activities and help you get the most out of your stay in Los Angeles. Other members of the Summer Springboard staff also live in off-campus housing and are available to support students and tackle emergencies, 24 hours a day.
All classes take place in classrooms in the UCLA Hillel Center. This building is located a short walk from Westwood Village, an area full of shops and restaurants. Some afternoons, students will have excursions off-campus and will be accompanied by their professors. Commuter students will be dropped off and picked up from our building at UCLA.
Food and beverage will be provided in a no-contact way (i.e. pre-packaged food, no self-serve buffets). We can accommodate diets such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, or specific food allergies.
