Overview

It’s not just about getting into the best school, it’s about figuring out the best schools for you. This program takes you to a variety of college campuses so you can identify the type of university that is uniquely suited to your personality and style.

The program also prepares you for the entire college admissions process. Get advice on building your college portfolio. Think about how competitive coursework, extracurricular activities, and a stellar personal statement factor into your application. Along the way, you’ll have to answer a lot of questions about yourself and what you want.

New England is home to a high concentration of top institutions and experts in the admissions process. Meet with a former admissions officer of a top university and visit colleges in neighboring regions to compare and contrast what is right for you. While the exact colleges we visit may vary, they may include some of the following institutions:

  • Boston: Harvard University, MIT, Brandeis University, Boston College
  • Providence: Brown University, Providence College
  • Connecticut: UConn, Wesleyan University, Fairfield University
  • New York City: NYU, Columbia University, Fordham University
  • Western Massachusetts: Amherst, UMass, Hampshire College

SAT Test Prep

We have partnered with The Princeton Review (TPR) to offer a customized 12-hour SAT Prep course for Summer Springboard. The course is taught in-person by a TPR-trained instructor and includes two scored diagnostic exams that will establish baselines for progress and areas to focus on. In addition you will get course books and have access to your personal online portal through TPR, even after the program. This will allow you to track your progress and measure improvements in score over time.

College Tours

Visit a wide variety of colleges and universities to understand what best suits you – public or private, liberal arts or technical, urban or rural. Considering these questions now can save you from a costly mistake later. Twice a week we’ll tour at least two colleges (or more) so you can get a feel for the unique character of each school. Our staff will lead you through a guided reflection process so that your choice of university aligns with your individual personality.

Admissions Coaching

Getting into the school of your dreams takes more than you might think. Beyond test scores and GPA, there’s a variety of factors to consider. Our coaches provide a clear overview of the Common App, the application used by more than 700 colleges and universities. Learn tips to optimize your application. In addition, our coaches work with you to craft a Personal Statement that will stand out from the crowd. You can also get the inside scoop directly from former admissions officers from top universities.
