Health careers today are integrated, global, and broad. Our Medicine and Public Health Academic Exploration Track prepares students for a wide range of majors and careers in the field of health sciences through a combination of foundational science, math, and social policy coursework as well as insights into current events and trends. Students will also meet with a variety of health professionals to learn more about their career and professional journeys.

Summer Springboard Personal Leadership Framework

Academic Foundations

The foundational curriculum for the Medicine and Public Health track is designed to build on current high school coursework and provide exposure to broader topics in the field such as biology, chemistry, statistics, and epidemiology. This work will provide the foundation for other coursework and projects during the session.

Current Events

Students will gain exposure to current topics and news in the field of Medicine and Public Health through speakers and news updates. Current events will inform much of our project work for this track.

Project Work

Project work will touch on some of today’s pressing medical and public health questions. Students will work with their peers to design and tackle a project that not only gives them insight into the real world of medical and public health challenges, but also puts them in the shoes of modern-day health professionals.

Career Exploration

Meet and learn from some of the most exciting speakers in the fields of Medicine and Public Health. During the Summer Springboard experience students will have a chance to hear from physicians, researchers, public health experts, and environmental scientists who are tackling today’s most pressing questions. This will be your unique opportunity to ask questions and understand their roles and responsibilities more.
