For 16 years our partner, Global Leadership Adventures, has taken teenagers around the world to engage in meaningful community service and learning. Despite the global pandemic, it’s critical to use this school year to continue to build your portfolio of experiences and explore academic majors. That’s why they have created an online internship that may change your life: Global Impact Virtual Internships.
Global Leadership Adventures and Summer Springboard not only share a mission-driven determination to empower college-bound teens through experiential learning, we also share roots as sister organizations. One of our mutual founders, Andrew Motiwalla, is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and his vision helped GLA build the global connections with international partners and communities that make the “global impact” part of this virtual internship possible.
Want to gain valuable work experience with an innovative global non-profit organization or social enterprise? This 6-week part-time virtual internship allows you to develop career and leadership skills while working on initiatives focused on the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development worldwide. Running from March 22 – April 30, 2021, these internships are facilitated by Global Leadership Adventures, in partnership with leading organizations based in Thailand, South Africa, Morocco and the Galapagos in Ecuador.
Students will choose one of five available focus areas, which will guide the specific content of their internship as it relates to each theme:
- Animal & Wildlife Conservation
- Environmental Stewardship
- Community Development
- Public Health & Medicine
- Social Justice
The deadline to register for the Spring Session is March 1, 2021, and there are 24 spaces available for each internship focus area. With this limited capacity, we recommend registering soon before spots are filled.
