Born in Hinche, Haiti, Dr. Yves-Dany Accilien (“Dany”) is a graduate of the University of Miami where he majored in Exercise Physiology & Kinesiology. He received his medical degree from FIU HWCOM, where he co-founded the international non-profit organization, KORE Haiti, and continues to serve as its Chief Operating Officer. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident, and led and participated in numerous activities including the resident-medical student mentorship program, stop-the-bleed campaign, and the flight physician program. He served as the co-chair of the AAEM/RSA Diversity and Inclusion committee where he developed the Diversity and Inclusion Mentoring network within the committee. After moving down to Atlanta, he completed his Executive MBA at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School while completing an Administration Fellowship at ApolloMD. Currently, Dany is a practicing Emergency Physician at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he serves as the Co-chair of the Process Improvement Committee. Outside of the ER, he is the Medical Director of RelyMD, a national telehealth company, and co-founder and Chief Emergency Medicine Officer of Vaizian, an artificial intelligence medical diagnosis software company. Dany believes Emergency Medicine provides a phenomenal lens into the US healthcare system, and he’s extremely excited to be part of the Summer Springboard program!
