This is the perfect opportunity for high-achieving, college-bound teens to
- Meet with the instructor and faculty for the course
- Ask questions about the program, curriculum, and UW Foster School of Business
The UW Foster School of Business Youth Program is a new initiative aimed at providing rising junior and senior high school students with a transformative educational experience. This first pilot year will launch in July 2025 in collaboration with Summer Springboard (SSB) and will combine rigorous academic content, engaging college preparation activities, excursions to global companies in the Seattle region, and cultural exposure to deliver a unique and impactful experience. The program will be open to both domestic and international students.

The UW Foster School of Business High School Program is a two-week immersive experience designed for rising high school juniors and seniors. Taught by UW Foster Faculty, the program topics are carefully designed to provide essential critical thinking skills in a short amount of time, culminating in a team-based case competition. Through this systematic approach, students will learn important written, oral, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills that could be applied to various challenges in their college lives and future careers.
This program offers:
•Academic Rigor: Classroom learning led by Foster faculty, culminating in a case competition.
•College Preparation: Workshops, activities, and excursions focused on critical thinking, collaboration, and readiness for college life.
•Collaborative Partnership: Combining the academic excellence of UW Foster with the operational expertise of Summer Springboard (SSB).
THE SUMMER SPRINGBOARD @ UW Foster School of Business EXPERIENCE

Hands-on Learning
At the end of the two weeks, students will apply concepts learned throughout the program by participating in a case competition, just like our undergrad and MBA students at UW Foster do.

College Prep
Through a campus tour, college readiness workshops and True You, we provide students with the opportunity to gain clarity on their path ahead. Our goal is for them to walk away with a deeper understanding of the college admissions process. Students also make new friends from across the United States and around the world and learn to live as a college student.

Career Exploration
During this team-based project, students will tackle a real-world business problem from an iconic global coffee company headquartered in Seattle. They will learn to ideate multiple solutions as a group, weigh the pros and cons of each idea collaboratively and constructively, use critical thinking to select the best option, and make a persuasive presentation to a panel of experts.

Weekend Excursions
Weekend excursions will take students to iconic Seattle destinations like Pike Place Market, the Museum of Pop Culture, a scenic ferry tour, and Wild Waves Theme Park. The weekend is perfect for exploring the city on foot, enjoying the lively atmosphere and mild weather.
