Course Overview
This course starts with a broad overview of the complete AR design process and how to get started. The course then emphasizes design thinking, critiques, and ethics while introducing guidelines and user-centered design techniques like hand sketching and brainstorming. The latter part of the course introduces a variety of methods and tools for prototyping on mobile and desktop platforms.
Students learn through creating their own storyboard, sketches, visual graphics, and digital prototype of an AR experience. Through exercises, students will practice design skills and incorporate AR technologies into their graphic design, packaging, and illustration work.
