This workshop covers the essential aspects of branding through effective design and delivery. The topics include identifying brand personality, market and user research, designing with the consideration of color, shape, fonts, and tactile elements, designing for corporate businesses, such as business cards, stationery, banners, packaging, and other promotional items. The outcome of the course is to produce a style guide for the chosen brand.
Xiaoying Rong, Ph.D.
Dr. Xiaoying Rong’s main teaching activities include Interactive Product Development, Consumer Packaging, and Specialty Printing Technology courses at Cal Poly. She has been teaching in Graphic Communication Department since 2005. Her research interests include interactive product design, product development, disruptive technologies and specialty printing for marketing.
This program is run in partnership with Cal Poly Extended Education. Instructors are Cal Poly faculty and provide access to the same facilities that Cal Poly students enjoy.
