Dr. Alexandria Wilson-McDonald is a professorial lecturer in the School of International Service at American University in Washington, D.C., where she is also a member of the Transatlantic Policy Center. Dr. Wilson-McDonald has conducted extensive field research on politics and gender across central and eastern Europe. In the past five years, she has worked as a researcher in the Czech Republic on a Fulbright grant and as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Warsaw in Poland. Her research has been published in highly esteemed academic journals, and you can find several of her essays on Ms. Magazine.com. She has conducted numerous interviews with activists, policymakers, journalists, and politicians as part of her research. She currently teaches courses in comparative politics, gender and politics, and European politics. Dr. Wilson-McDonald earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Florida with graduate certificates in European studies and gender studies.
