  2. Prep your Application Materials: you will be required to submit your most up-to-date resume and a cover letter is always greatly appreciated!
  3. Complete and submit our Seasonal Staff Application

After submitting your application, we will promptly review it. You can expect to receive feedback within one week. If your background aligns with our requirements, you will be invited to participate in a first-round interview with our hiring team. This initial interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and assess your qualifications for the position, as well as for you to get to know SSB programs!

If you successfully complete the first-round interview, you will be invited for a second interview. During this stage, you will have the chance to review typical program scenarios relevant to the position you’re applying for. This interview allows us to further evaluate your skills, experience, and suitability for the role.

For positions such as Campus Director, Assistant Campus Director, or Activities Coordinator, you will also be invited for a third interview with the Program Director of your potentially assigned campus program. This interview is an opportunity to delve deeper into the specific responsibilities and expectations of the role within the campus program.

What is SSB?
SSB stands for Summer Springboard, an organization that offers innovative pre-college summer programs at leading colleges and universities. These programs provide students with academic challenges, personal leadership development, and self-discovery opportunities.

What residential positions are available at SSB?
SSB offers various on-campus positions such as Campus Director, Assistant Campus Director, Activities Coordinator, Resident Mentor, and Program Instructor. Each position plays a crucial role in delivering a successful summer program experience.

What qualifications are required to work at SSB?
Our staff come from a diverse range of backgrounds, fields, and disciplines – that is what makes our teams so great!

We value diversity and welcome individuals from various backgrounds and disciplines to join our team. While specific qualifications may vary depending on the role, all staff members are required to meet certain criteria to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and uphold the quality of our programs. The qualifications required to work at SSB include:

Enhanced Nationwide Criminal and Sex Offender Background check: All staff members must undergo and pass a comprehensive national background check. This is essential to ensure the safety and security of our students and maintain a trusted and secure environment.

CPR/First Aid Certification: Staff members are required to possess a current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid certification. This certification equips staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide immediate assistance when needed.

Experience and Passion for Working with Youth: Candidates should have demonstrated experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or mentorship settings. This could include experience as a teacher, counselor, coach, mentor, or volunteer. Staff members should be enthusiastic, patient, and empathetic individuals who are committed to supporting the personal and academic growth of our students. Additionally, while not mandatory, relevant qualifications, certifications, or experience in fields such as education, youth development, counseling, or leadership may be beneficial and preferred for certain positions within the organization.


How many weeks will I be working?

Our staff contracts vary from 4 weeks to 8 weeks and includes staff orientation before the students arrive.

How do I get to and from campus?

Summer Springboard reimburses the roundtrip transportation (up to $400) to the campus. Staff members have the flexibility to book their preferred method of transport to and from the program.

Will I have time off?

Yes! Each staff member gets rotating time off each week the program is in session from about 6 PM to 8 AM the following morning. Additonally, staff have one day off between each program session they work.
