Summer Springboard offers two different types of scholarships, needs-based scholarship and the IDEA scholarship.

Needs-Based Scholarship

Summer Springboard has a limited pool of need-based scholarships. Because resources are limited and we try to support as many students as possible, we have the following limitations on scholarships:

  • Depending on the program, the maximum award is 30% of residential tuition costs, or up to 60% for commuter or online programs.
  • Awards are based on availability of funds for the specific program & the family’s financial situation.
  • Scholarships cannot be used towards the $600 non-refundable deposit and $99 non-refundable application fee upon application, or anything other than tuition. (such as airfare or other expenses)
  • Scholarships can be combined with other offers for a maximum award of 30% for residential tuition, or up to 60% for commuter or online.
  • If you change program session, country, or duration, your scholarship award will be reevaluated and may change.

IDEA Scholarship

Summer Springboard—with intent to provide greater inclusion, diversity, equity and access to SSB programs—is proud to share that we are offering two full scholarships for our pre-college programs in the summer of 2024 to two students of color with demonstrated financial need and one full scholarship for a pre-college program in the summer of 2024 to one additional student based solely on demonstrated financial need.

Applicants for all scholarships will select from one Summer Springboard program (pending availability of program and session dates).

  1. Upon submission of application, essay (with a 1000 word minimum [1200 word max]) and demonstrated financial need, SSB will invite top applicants and their guardians to a final interview to take place between March 25 – March 29, 2024.
  2. No later than April 5, 2024 SSB will award two applicants as scholarship recipients of the SSB IDEA Scholarship. We will work together with recipients to acquire required flights, passports, etc.
  3. Upon final award selection, scholarship recipients must complete the full SSB application to ensure that we can accommodate them based on any medical or mental health histories (as we do for all students on our programs) according to the specific destination of the program. All submissions made utilizing ChatGPT or similar software will be automatically disqualified
