At Summer Springboard, we're dedicated to creating an educational experience that's both enlightening and captivating. Our daily routine begins with a hearty breakfast, setting the stage for engaging academic adventures. In course-specific classes, led by dynamic instructors and expert professors, students dive deep into their subjects. We go beyond traditional classroom learning, enriching the experience with field trips and guest speakers, utilizing the resources of the prestigious University of Michigan to offer an exceptional educational journey. Business & Entrepreneurship

Students will learn firsthand from business veterans about starting and running a business. Over the course of the program, they will develop a plan for a new venture and pitch their idea to real world investors. Along the way, meet with leaders from different areas of business and finance.

Excursions – Students will have the opportunity to visit Rocket Mortgage, one of the largest lenders in the U.S. This visit offers a unique glimpse into the array of opportunities within its family of companies. Additionally, students will have the chance to hear from other business leaders and activists, learning about their efforts to revitalize the state.

Computer Science at the University of Michigan

This course offers an engaging introduction to coding through Python, suitable for beginners and those with some programming background. Students will explore Python fundamentals, covering critical topics like variables, data types, control structures, functions, and loops, with a blend of theory and hands-on practice. Students will undertake projects designed to enhance problem-solving skills and coding proficiency. Those with previous experience in programming will find opportunities to challenge themselves further, while newcomers will gain a solid foundation in Python syntax and program design. The course culminates in a final project, enabling students to demonstrate their skills and add a significant piece to their programming portfolio. This course is structured to build confidence and competence in Python, paving the way for future programming endeavors.

Michigan Excursions: Michigan’s Computer Science and Engineering Division boasts one of the oldest and most esteemed computation programs globally. Students will interact with prominent figures in the technology sector, such as software engineers and game developers. Additionally, they will enjoy exclusive tours of leading tech companies based in Michigan, potentially including Google, Skyspecs, and other prominent software firms in the region.

Kinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Michigan

When someone has trouble moving or is injured, what can truly help is a non-invasive discipline that helps evaluate and improve mobility and relieve pain. Physical therapy might be just what they need. In this program, you will learn the basics of human anatomy, movement fundamentals, and exercise principles while doing lab work and clinical education.

Sports Management

Successful management is required in all segments of the sport industry whether professional, amateur, collegiate, club, public, private, etc. In the management function, the same basic elements are needed, regardless of organizational type: personnel management, program development, marketing, information management, facilities management, and legal responsibilities. Depending on what kind of sport management career interests you, possibilities include working directly with athletes, coaches, and organizations, or working behind the scenes as a promoter, marketing manager, or sports economist. Our course will explore the business management side of sports and expose you to the number of different directions you can take with a background in Sports Management.

Housing

Students can make the most of their college experience by residing in one of the seventeen difference residence hall on campus, mirroring the life of a University of Michigan student. In the dorm room, students share space with roommates and have access to a common bathroom. Each room has an extra-long twin-size bed, desks, drawers, mirrors, and closets, ensuring a comfortable and productive environment.

In the dorms, students will find multiple study rooms, inviting lounges for socializing, and even a kitchen and laundry room to cater to their daily needs. To foster a sense of community and guidance, our Summer Springboard staff (mentor) will reside on the hall floor, organizing activities and offering support. Furthermore, other dedicated members of the Summer Springboard staff are available around the clock to assist with any student needs or emergencies. The University of Michigan experience awaits, complete with comfort and a strong support system.

Dining

The University of Michigan is nationally recognized as the “Leader and Best” in classrooms and for the quality of its dining program. Students can make the most of their college experience by eating most meals on campus in one of the the 9 dining halls.
