Academic Courses
At Summer Springboard, we're dedicated to creating an educational experience that's both enlightening and captivating. Rooted in the belief that learning should be inspiring and interactive, our program harnesses the incredible resources of our Michigan campus, offering a hands-on approach to education. Students immerse themselves in outdoor, on-site, or lab settings, deepening their understanding and appreciation of their chosen subjects.
Our daily routine begins with a hearty breakfast, setting the stage for engaging academic adventures. In course-specific classes, led by dynamic instructors and expert professors, students dive deep into their subjects. We go beyond traditional classroom learning, enriching the experience with field trips and guest speakers, utilizing the resources of the prestigious University of Michigan to offer an exceptional educational journey. At Summer Springboard, we empower students to explore, learn, and grow, fostering an environment where curiosity thrives and knowledge flourishes.
In addition to our academic morning courses, students spend the afternoon either in College Readiness Workshops (Speaking with Confidence, Finance 101, Leadership and College Admissions ), participating in academic excursions or doing our True You program which explores elements of one's real self including strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
Advanced Topics in Computer Science

Throughout the course, students will work on hands-on projects designed to reinforce their understanding of advanced topics. Whether it’s building encryption tools, experimenting with machine learning algorithms, or designing logical circuits, each project will give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to practical tasks. In addition, the course will feature challenges that encourage collaboration, creative thinking, and problem-solving in real-world scenarios.
Last summer, students had an incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of computer science with a visit to Atomic Object, a cutting-edge custom software development firm. There, they met the entire team, participated in an engaging morning meeting, and explored the technology and tools used in various roles within the company. Additionally, they toured the Ford Robotics building, home to Michigan Robotics, where they uncovered the exciting ways computer science drives the creation of innovative technologies that seamlessly integrate with other fields.

Business & Entrepreneurship

Students will learn firsthand from business veterans about starting and running a business. Over the course of the program, they will develop a plan for a new venture and pitch their idea to real world investors. Along the way, meet with leaders from different areas of business and finance.
Excursions – Last summer, students had an incredible opportunity to visit Rocket Mortgage, one of the largest lenders in the U.S.! This exclusive visit gave them an inside look at the vast array of career paths within the company’s dynamic family of businesses. But the excitement didn’t stop there—students also got to hear firsthand from influential business leaders and activists, learning about their impactful efforts to revitalize Michigan.
And in a truly “sweet” experience, students visited the newly opened Molly’s Cupcakes in Michigan, famous for winning the first season of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. Though the company was founded in 2007, this was their first Michigan location, and it had just opened one week before the student visit. The kitchen was buzzing as founder and CEO Johnny Nicolaides led an exciting behind-the-scenes tour, sharing insights into the company’s creativity, vision, and the secrets behind their booming success!
