Harshad Nawale is an engineer turned academic, bringing a strong foundation in automotive design and systems integration to the classroom. He previously worked at Jaguar Land Rover and Lear Corporation, contributing to high-profile projects such as the Mercedes EV platform, Range Rover Autobiography, Velar, F-Pace, and Discovery Sport. His roles focused on mechanical design, product feasibility, and system-level integration for premium OEMs. Building on this industry experience, Harshad is now a graduate researcher in the Automotive Engineering program at the University of Michigan, focusing on vehicle systems integration, battery technologies, hybrid powertrains, and controls. As part of the Electric Vehicle Center at the University of Michigan, Harshad contributes to the development of professional-level training programs in battery manufacturing, testing, and design.
In addition to his professional roles, Harshad led a top-ranked Formula Student team in India, managing the end-to-end development of both electric and combustion-style race cars. With a passion for experiential learning, Harshad looks forward to helping students explore real-world engineering challenges through creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
