Medicine & Healthcare
Dr. Moreen Donahue, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Dr. Donahue served as the Chief Nursing Officer for the Western Connecticut Health Network, the region’s premier, patient-centered health care organization serving residents of Western Connecticut and adjacent New York. Dr. Donahue completed her BSN degree at Boston College. Following this, she earned an MS degree in education from the State University of New York and her MSN in nursing and Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Case Western Reserve University.
George Muksian, JD, Ed.M, MA
George Muksian combines a lifetime of courtroom experience with teaching experience at some of the nation’s top universities. He has worked as a criminal defense lawyer and prosecutor for many years, as well as having tried many cases in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts trial courts. George has also been a law lecturer at Tufts University, Johnson & Wales University and other universities. He holds degrees from Harvard University (Ed.M), Suffolk University (J.D.), Wesleyan University (M.A.), and Providence College (B.A.).
Psychology & Neuroscience
Jessica André, Ph.D.
Jessica André is a professor at Quinnipiac University in nearby Hamden, CT in the Psychology department. Before joining the faculty, she was a postdoctoral associate in Yale’s molecular psychiatry program. Jessica’s graduate and postdoctoral work focused on obtaining a better understanding of learning and memory related symptoms of neuropsychiatric diseases through animal models. Jessica spends her free time walking and playing with her dog Chance, of which pictures are often seen as they are the wallpaper background on her laptop. She holds a Ph.D. from Temple University.
Dr. Lisa Acerbo, Ed.D
Dr. Lisa Acerbo is a university professor and published author of five young adult and new adult novels. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Acerbo helps judge a local annual literary competition and arts festival. She holds her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and has always loved reading and writing.
Business & Entrepreneurship
Steve Bevins, MBA, MAT
Steve has a variety of teaching and training experience in education and business. Currently he is a high school business teacher in the Career Education Department for North Haven Public Schools. In addition, he has industry experience as a financial operations analyst where he managed financial and regulatory reporting and maintained $15 million in a Fed Funds portfolio. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Quinnipiac University.
Engineering & Innovation
Rich Bonnanzio, MSME, MSM
Rich has over forty years of experience in various capacities in the engineering industry. He was a model manager responsible for the V2500 program for International Aero Engines (IAE). IAE manages engineering, sales, production, customer support and aftermarket services for the V2500 engine – one of the most successful commercial jet-engine programs in production today. In addition, he was a design lead and deputy manager at Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units. He holds an Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from University of Bridgeport as well as a Master of Science in Management (MSM) from Albertus Magnus College.
George Pillar III, MSCS
George has worked in the technology field for over 40 years. Prior to his work in industry, providing technology and information consulting to public and private companies, he was in the United States Air Force and trained in the maintenance of crypto-computer systems. Currently he is an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Haven and Manchester Community College where he teaches C++ & Java programming, Network Essentials, Intro to Info Technology, among other applications. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
Finance & Investing
Peter Mombaur, MBA
This course was designed by Peter Mombaur whose global experience ranges from being a management consultant with McKinsey & Co., an investor, and entrepreneur. Peter managed a private equity investment firm and successfully executed and managed investments in multiple industries. With his experience as both an investor and management consultant, Peter’s main message to students interested in finance and investing is to consider both financial and non-financial aspects thoroughly.
