True You: Reflecting on the Summer Springboard Experience

True You is a two-part reflection activity that helps students process what they’ve experienced during their time at Summer Springboard. It’s a chance to think through goals, explore how interests may be shifting, and leave with a clearer idea of what college could look like for them.

Session 1: Starting the Conversation
Early in the program, students meet in small groups led by their mentor to reflect on their current thoughts around college, potential majors, and what kind of environment they picture for themselves. They complete a short worksheet to help capture these early ideas and begin thinking intentionally about the week ahead.

Session 2: Looking Back
At the end of the program, students return to the same mentor group to revisit those reflections. They consider what changed, what stayed the same, and what they learned about themselves. Whether it was their course, a campus tour, or something that came up during free time, it all becomes part of the bigger picture.

Why It Matters
Every student walks away with something different. For some, it’s a new direction. For others, it’s confirmation that they’re on the right track. Even moments of uncertainty can be useful. True You helps students recognize that figuring out what doesn’t work is just as valuable as discovering what does.

A Thoughtful Finish
Students receive their completed True You reflections during the graduation ceremony, alongside their certificate. It’s a personal snapshot of their time on campus and a reminder of what they’ve learned, whether that’s a shift in perspective or a stronger sense of clarity heading into the future.
