About This Course

Students in this program will become part of a new company they devise and will work in teams on various aspects of the new business.

They will dive into the world of business and learn how companies work. Students will explore the secrets of making things, telling people about them, and selling them.

They will get a chance to hear stories from entrepreneurs who have started small and made it big. The program culminates in a Shark Tank-style pitch presentation.

TOPICS YOU'LL EXPLORE

Hands-on Learning

Students will have the opportunity to engage with entrepreneurial and business veterans. During academic excursions, guest speakers will share their wealth of knowledge and encourage career exploration. Hands-on learning is experienced through visits to local big and small businesses. Outside of course specific studies the students will explore all the Bay Area and nearby Silicon Valley has to offer! With so much rich history, breathtaking sights, parks and famed landmarks at our fingertips there is something for everyone to discover!

Meet your instructor

Before transitioning into a career as a facilitator of Team Business programs, André spent over 25 years deeply embedded in the retail industry in South Africa and the Middle East, where he specialized in process re-engineering and automation. His extensive experience in this field laid a strong foundation for his future work in education and leadership development.

Since 2002, André has facilitated Team Business programs for a diverse range of clients, including corporate organizations, teenagers, and educational institutions across the globe—spanning the USA, England, Spain, India, Morocco, and Switzerland. His role in shaping future leaders extends to his involvement with MLT’s prestigious Leadership Development Program.

For many years, André has been a key figure in launching high-impact programs, including the Leadership in the Business World Program at Wharton, the Management and Technology Summer Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Fundamentals of Business Program at Georgetown University.

In recent years, André has also made significant contributions to DECA, mentoring students and judging at competitions at the Silicon Valley District, California State, and International levels.

André is passionate about introducing students to the dynamic world of business while helping them develop essential skills in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and entrepreneurship. With his deep-rooted expertise in business and a global perspective from having visited over 50 countries, André brings an invaluable wealth of experience to his work, inspiring the next generation of business leaders.
