Middle School Trial Law
- Step into the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and jurors during engaging mock trials.
- Learn courtroom procedures, evidence handling, and persuasive argument strategies from a real attorney.
- Visit a local courthouse and experience the judicial system firsthand.
- Develop critical thinking and public speaking skills through interactive legal exercises.
- Explore legal careers and hear stories from professionals in the field.
- Collaborate with peers to build and present strong cases in a realistic trial setting.

About This Course
This program introduces students to vital techniques that are used by trial lawyers throughout the United States. Real world experts will share their knowledge about Trial Law and students will hear the inside scoop on law school and the admissions process.
Possible excursions for Trial Law students at UC San Diego include a trip to the San Diego Superior Court to witness a hearing and participate in a mock trial, a visit to Cal Western School of Law, or a visit to the San Diego County District Attorney office.

Meet Your Instructor
Zach Brooks is a trial attorney practicing in both state and federal court and the owner of Zach Brooks Law, a criminal defense law firm. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his law degree from UCLA School of Law. He is the author of a forthcoming book with University of California Press examining the tension between criminal procedure and public safety.
