Course Overview

Summer Springboard’s Music Production and Management program provides high school students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative and business aspects of the music industry, with the added benefit of being based in Los Angeles, one of the world’s premier music and entertainment hubs. This location not only enhances the learning experience but also opens doors to unparalleled industry exposure and networking opportunities.

During the course, students will engage in songwriting, music production, and recording, while learning critical music business concepts such as copyright, royalties, and artist management. With Los Angeles as the backdrop, students can take advantage of the city’s vibrant music scene, visiting world-class studios, and learning from leading professionals during excursions and guest lectures.

By the end of the program, students will have developed both their creative and business skills, completing a final project (such as a demo or marketing plan) and leaving well-prepared to pursue a career in the music industry.

Hands-On Learning


Students will explore and practice the main elements of the music industry throughout much of the first week, students will complete a final project such as a demo or marketing plan.

Career Exploration


Go behind the scenes and explore the significance of different music genres, see displays of fashion worn on the red carpet, and discover the history of music production at
the Grammys Museum. Students will also get to visit a real recording studio, where they will learn about music recording equipment as well as producing and editing demos.
