Course Overview

Students in this course will be given the opportunity to work with an exciting company and work in groups to learn more about website development and how it works in practice. In each classroom session, students will learn new skills and aspects of web development which they will be able to apply to their real-world project. In their groups, they will work on project deliverables, construct their project documents and work on their presentations. Their real-world project will involve working with a company that is developing customized, gamified learning journeys based on their clients’ technology-stack, internal tools and company culture. The company’s clients are working to address core competency gaps to further develop work-ready graduates through a customized training program.
Software Engineering Schedule

Who
Open to any high school student who will be entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in Fall 2023. Space is limited. Each session is limited to 35 students per track.

How
Classes will be held via Zoom and facilitated in real-time by the instructor and a classroom coordinator.

Akhil was born in Hyderabad, India, brought up in Nairobi, Kenya and is now building a career in South Africa running two specialist web development companies. He graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a first-class degree in Computer Science and Information Systems as well as a postgraduate qualification.
