BLOG POST FOR JULY 23
The inaugural session of Summer Springboard at the University of Michigan has gotten off to a very fast start! Despite some tech outages over the weekend, students have settled in nicely, and we’re looking forward to smooth sailing for the rest of the session. The first class excursions are coming up, and we’re also excited about the fun this weekend has to offer. With a jam-packed two weeks ahead, we’re eager to take in as much as we can and make the most of our time together!
BLOG POST FOR JULY 29
Last week and this past weekend were an absolute blast at our Michigan program! Students decorated tote bags, participated in Olympic relay race events with their mentor groups, and enjoyed thrilling outings to Cedar Point amusement park and a Detroit Tigers game. The class excursions were a hit, offering unique, hands-on experiences: computer science students visited Atomic Object, mechanical engineering students explored the Fluid Dynamic/Material Science Experimental Lab, sports management students met with the manager of the Toledo Mud Hens and toured the field, business & entrepreneurship students went to Rocket Mortgage in Detroit for an office tour, and kinesiology & physical therapy students visited Team Rehabilitation, a physical therapy office.
This week, we’re looking forward to keeping the fun and energy at a high level. Students are especially excited about taking a tour of the “Big House,” Michigan’s football stadium, and visiting the Michigan State campus. With so many exciting activities and learning opportunities, this session is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
BLOG POST FOR AUGUST 2
It feels like the session just started, but that concludes our first year at Michigan, and what a session it was! This group of students was brilliant, and we’re glad to have all shared this experience together. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn made every moment special and memorable. Students got to finish out the session with some amazing class excursions, allowing them the opportunity to learn outside the classroom in a fun and engaging manner. These hands-on experiences truly enriched their learning journey. We closed out the session with a closing ceremony and final soiree. Although it was very bittersweet, everyone had a blast, and we look forward to seeing these wonderful students continue to grow and achieve in their future endeavors.
