Summer Springboard has kicked off in historic Oxford!

All students have arrived on-program, settling into their new home surrounded by the timeless charm and academic spirit that fills this incredible city. The vibrant influence of Oxford’s world-renowned institutions is everywhere, sparking curiosity and inspiration as students start to connect, explore and settle in. The energy is relaxed but full of promise as the adventure begins.

Over the next two weeks, students will dive into engaging courses, discover the city’s rich history on exciting excursions, and take part in True You sessions designed to help them grow personally and academically.

From lively discussions to new friendships blossoming, this group is ready to make the most of every moment in this one-of-a-kind setting. We’re excited to see where the journey leads!

Here are some highlights from the start of the program:

  • Having a pizza dinner in the garden while getting acquainted with the other students on the program
  • Exploring our local area and having their first dinner out
  • Forming Mentor groups and creating a mascot and team chant
  • Successfully completed orientation and the first day of class
  • Joining a club, badminton in the garden, and bonding

    Students have just wrapped an exciting first week filled with discovery, learning and new connections. Surrounded by the rich history and vibrant energy of Oxford, they’ve dived into hands-on academic courses and kicked off their True You workshop, exploring what drives them and starting to shape their futures.

    This week’s excursions brought the experience to life, and engaging in group activities sparked creativity and teamwork. It’s been incredible to watch students grow in confidence, curiosity and beyond as they embrace all that Oxford has to offer.

    With Week 2 ahead, the adventure continues! More courses, deeper self-exploration and unforgettable experiences await. The best is yet to come on this remarkable journey.

    Here are some highlights from the first week of the program:

  • Our Immunology students visited a laboratory where pathogenic research is conducted.
  • Our Psychology and Neuroscience students got to discuss careers in psychology and get insight into the Oxford student experience.
  • Our students have explored the Oxford City Centre and visited many cafes.
  • We had a BBQ with some lawn games on Thursday evening.
  • Touring Green Templeton College on Friday and doing some souvenir shopping in the city centre.

    That’s a wrap on a memorable Summer Springboard experience!

    What a journey it’s been on campus. After two incredible weeks of hands-on academic courses, inspiring True You workshops and adventurous weekend excursions, our students have crossed the finish line of an unforgettable Summer Springboard program. They’ve explored new ideas, challenged themselves and made friendships that will last long after they leave campus.

    Throughout the program, students gained valuable insight into their college major interests and career aspirations, while reflecting on the kind of learners and future professionals they want to become. From engaging classroom discussions to real-world experiences beyond campus, this summer has been all about growth, discovery and setting the foundation for what’s next.

    We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. Here’s to new beginnings and exciting futures ahead!
