This course is one week long, and you can extend your experience to as many as six weeks by adding additional one-week courses.

About This Course

Explore the basics of cancer biology and treatment while gaining insight into one of medicine’s most challenging and rewarding fields. This program introduces fundamental concepts about how cancer develops, how it’s diagnosed, and how medical teams work together to provide comprehensive patient care.

You’ll examine both the scientific and compassionate care aspects that define modern oncology. This intensive week provides excellent preparation for students considering medical careers while developing a deeper understanding of cancer prevention and treatment. Through case studies and professional mentorship, you’ll gain realistic insight into oncology careers and the interdisciplinary approach to cancer care.

TOPICS YOU'LL EXPLORE

Hands-on Learning

Students examine cancer cell samples under microscopes, participate in case study discussions, and work through treatment planning scenarios using real patient examples (anonymized).

Career Exploration

Meet with medical oncologists, radiation therapists, and cancer researchers to learn about various oncology career paths, medical school preparation, and opportunities in cancer research and patient care.

*Each subsequent week, if combined with other one-week high school courses at Yale or Oxford: Residential Tuition: $3,298, Commuter Tuition: $1,998

Apply by November 30 to lock in the lowest prices of the year. Tuition increases on December 1.
