Course Overview
Design Thinking & Rapid Prototyping at Berkeley offers students a unique hands-on experience combining creative problem-solving with advanced 3D design and fabrication. Over two weeks, participants learn to apply design thinking strategies while mastering Autodesk Fusion360 for creating 3D models. Students also build and calibrate their own 3D printers, turning digital designs into physical prototypes.
The course emphasizes iterative development, teaching students how to refine their ideas through rapid prototyping and testing. Visits to local co-working spaces and labs expose students to cutting-edge fabrication technologies and real-world design applications, preparing them for future careers in innovation, engineering, and product design.
