Course Overview
Students will learn firsthand from business veterans about starting and running a business. Over the course of the program, they will develop a plan for a new venture and pitch their idea to real world investors. Along the way, meet with leaders from different areas of business and finance.
Excursions at Georgetown – Students have previously connected with a cutting-edge startup by visiting a dynamic maker space, where they explored the inner workings of the business and witnessed the creation process firsthand. This immersive experience provided valuable lessons in business operations.
Additionally, students visited the sleek M.M.LaFleur store, co-founded by their instructor, where they met with fashion industry experts to explore business operations, brand strategy, and retail management. Other exciting excursions included a visit to Spot of Tea, a local boba shop, where they had the opportunity to speak with the co-owner about running a small business. They also met the team at Le Labo, a fragrance company, where they gained insights into innovative business models and strategies across different industries.
