About This Course
Summer Springboard’s Commuter Business & Entrepreneurship course at NYU gives middle school students a hands-on introduction to the exciting world of business. Students form teams to develop an original business idea and guide it from concept to reality, crafting marketing strategies, financial projections, and operational plans. The course emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, culminating in a Shark Tank-style pitch where students present their ventures to a panel for feedback.
Throughout the program, students gain unique insights by meeting with CEOs and startup founders, learning firsthand about the journeys of real-world entrepreneurs. They explore how marketing, sales, operations, and finance interconnect to drive business success and hear inspiring stories of how small ideas can grow into thriving companies. By the end of the week, participants will have practical experience launching a business, presenting to an audience, and understanding the key skills needed to succeed in the entrepreneurial world.
