Middle School Trial Law
- Step into the courtroom as defense attorneys, prosecutors, witnesses, jurors, or judges in engaging mock trials inspired by real New York cases.
- Research evidence, craft compelling arguments, and examine witnesses to build practical legal skills.
- Meet with civil rights lawyers, criminal defense attorneys, felony prosecutors, and other NYC-based legal professionals to hear firsthand about their work in the city’s courts.
- Gain behind-the-scenes insight into the justice system, including visits to local NYC courtrooms and legal institutions.
- Learn from seasoned trial lawyers and legal scholars who share personal stories, strategies, and professional tips.
- Explore a variety of legal careers, from litigator to judge and discover pathways in law and legal education.

About This Course
This commuter program introduces students to essential techniques used by trial lawyers in New York and beyond. Experienced legal professionals will share their knowledge of trial law, courtroom strategy, and the law school admissions process, giving students an insider’s perspective on the legal field.
Excursions in NYC – Students will visit a prominent New York City law school and a local courthouse, providing a unique opportunity to observe real-world legal environments, ask questions, and experience a “day in the life” of judges, attorneys, and legal staff.
TOPICS YOU'LL EXPLORE
Hands-on Learning
Students will get a a behind-the-scenes look at trial law through workshops led by experienced legal professionals. They will also learn key courtroom techniques, explore the law school admissions process and gain real-world insight during visits to a top NYC law school and a local courthouse.
