Course Overview
This 2-week prep course offers high school students the opportunity to visit New York City’s iconic architecture while learning the fundamentals of photography from award-winning photographer Keith Williams. Students will use their smartphone or digital camera to capture interiors and exteriors at locations such as Hudson Yards, the High Line, Central Park, and the World Trade Center. Students will acquire basic knowledge of photographic vocabulary, learn how to evaluate photographic images, and become familiar with digital photographic equipment and techniques. Discussions and assignments will also explore composition, styling, and lighting.
Earn College Credits: Seize the chance to earn one college credit applicable towards an undergraduate degree at NYSID or for inclusion in your future college applications.
Classes will be at the New York School of Interior Design, and students will stay in residential housing located in the heart of Manhattan.

Keith Williams
Keith Williams is an award-winning architectural photographer. He has extensive knowledge and experience photographing both finished projects and documenting works-in-progress. He photographs buildings and urban landscapes in the New York metropolitan area devoting himself to mastering the light, scale and palette of buildings in local contexts.

Course Structure
There are two class sessions per day over the two week course. During week one, students have class from 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm Monday - Friday. During week two students have class from 9am-12pm and1pm-3pm Monday through Thursday. Academic excursions will happen throughout the course as well, typically during a morning or afternoon class session.
