BLOG POST FOR AUGUST 1
Although we’re sad that we’ve already reached the last session of the summer, it’s gotten off to an absolute blast. Check-in day was a huge success, with students quickly settling in and forming friendships that have been very apparent. Classes have started fast, with some highlights including the Emergency Medicine class visiting the UCSD simulation center for hands-on work and the Fundamentals of Engineering course beginning construction on their bridges. The students’ enthusiasm and engagement in their courses have set a fantastic tone for the session.
Evening activities have been a hit, especially the friendship bracelet and painting nights, which have further strengthened the bonds among students. This weekend promises to be a fun one as students get to soak up the beautiful San Diego weather and participate in exciting weekend excursions. We’re looking forward to continuing this momentum and making the most of our final session at UCSD this summer.

The final session for our UCSD program, and the overall final session for the summer, has been flying by like a blur. The staff and students have been soaking it all in, making the most of every moment. Highlights from the past week include students going on their class excursions, allowing them to learn outside the classroom in a fun and engaging way. They also took a tour of the San Diego area, enjoying the beautiful weather, and had an exciting visit to the San Diego Zoo. As we approach the final days, the schedule remains packed with activities. Although it’s going to be bittersweet to say goodbye, we’re very much looking forward to going out with a bang at our closing ceremony and soiree!

That wraps up another amazing summer at UCSD! The group of students was truly outstanding, and although we’re sad to see our 2024 summer come to an end, we’re glad we got to share it with this incredible group. During the second week, the energy remained high as students embarked on more class excursions, offering them yet another chance to learn outside the classroom in a fun and engaging way. The session closed out with a bang, with our closing ceremony and soiree allowing students to soak in their last moments together this summer. We’re super excited to see how everyone continues to grow, and we’re honored to be part of their journey. We’d love to have these students back in the future!
