BLOG POST FOR JULY 21
Summer Springboard has landed at Yale, and the energy is off the charts!
Students arrived on campus, ready to dive into an incredible week filled with discovery, learning and new friendships in the heart of New Haven. After settling into their dorms and meeting roommates and mentors, the excitement was contagious as everyone started connecting over shared goals and the inspiring atmosphere of this world-renowned university campus. With Yale’s historic architecture and vibrant campus life as a backdrop, it’s clear this experience is going to be unforgettable.
What’s next? From hands-on classes and creative challenges to eye-opening excursions, students are about to embark on a journey of growth and exploration.Â
Whether debating big ideas in the classroom or discovering what makes them tick, this group is ready to seize every opportunity, and we’re just getting started. The next week is going to fly by, and we can’t wait to watch every moment unfold!
Here are some highlights from the start of the program:
- Students taking multiple sessions enjoyed a trip to NYC on Saturday! They got to explore Grand Central, Flatiron District, the Lego Store and Harry Potter Shop, the RISE NYC experience, had lunch in Times Square, and enjoyed a Top of the Rock tour.
- On Sunday, students enjoyed a bowling and arcade outing with food, dinner at Yale Saybrook Dining Hall, plus got to explore campus and the surrounding areas in New Haven during the Boundary Walk and a scavenger hunt.
- Students got to experience guest speakers as well as some excursions for their classes:
- Oncology visited the Smilow Cancer Pathology Lab and heard from pathologists Dr. Krasimira Rozenova and Dr. David Rimm plus grad students and a high school intern presenting cancer research. They also had a Cushing Medical Library & Museum tour with Alexandria Brackett.
- Fintech class had a zoom talk with Stephen Barnes, COO of Chicago Fundamental Investors.
- Aerospace students visited Tweed Airport Tour and Yale Aviation.
- Pre MBA got to explore UNH Makerspace.
- Pediatrics students learned more about CPR with Yale University.
