The next generation of business leaders has landed at the Foster School of Business!

Our Summer Springboard students arrived in Seattle, ready to kick off one high-impact week of business, leadership and startup ideas at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. 

From the moment they stepped onto campus, the energy was electric: students settling into dorm life, meeting their mentors and future collaborators, and already starting to network like pros. With stunning views, vibrant city life and the prestige of Foster all around, this program is off to a fast and exciting start.

What’s ahead? Think hands-on business simulations, leadership challenges, and insider insights from some of Seattle’s most innovative companies. Students will dive deep into core business concepts, develop their own entrepreneurial mindset and discover what it really means to lead with purpose. 

From classroom collaboration to real-world inspiration, this group is ready to dream big, think boldly and make their mark. The journey has just begun, and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.

Here are some highlights from the start of the program:

• We had a great check-in process with our new residents and commuter students from Washington and all over the world at the UW Foster Bootcamp kick-off!
• The residential students settled into their dorms and got to know their roommates and fellow students with field activities and board games.
• All students enjoyed a productive orientation session, where they were introduced to their Foster School of Business instructor for the week and learned about their Entrepreneurship courses for the week.
• All students met with their SSB mentor and mentor groups and played fun ice breakers to get to know each other.
• Students enjoyed a yummy dinner of pizza and salad at our Orientation night.

BLOG POST FOR JULY 24

Students at UW Foster School of Business are almost finished with their memorable Summer Springboard experience!

What a journey it’s been on campus. After an incredible week of hands-on academic courses, inspiring afternoon activities and adventurous weekend excursions, our students are about to cross the finish line of an unforgettable Summer Springboard program. They’ve explored new ideas, challenged themselves and made friendships that will last long after they leave campus.

Throughout the program, students gained valuable insight into their college major interests and career aspirations, while reflecting on the kind of learners and future professionals they want to become. From engaging classroom discussions to real-world experiences beyond campus, this summer has been all about growth, discovery and setting the foundation for what’s next.

We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. Here’s to new beginnings and exciting futures ahead!

Here are some highlights from the week:

• Students enjoyed an academic excursion to the Seattle Climate Innovation Hub, where they met with different startup CEOs and gained more practical knowledge about entrepreneurship.
• The Foster Bootcamp students have been hard at work this week, working together in the pitch teams to prepare a presentation of the their start-up ideas!
• All students had a fun afternoon activity at Husky Hub playing pool, bowling, table tennis and playing computer games.
• Everyone is looking forward to the final Trade Show and celebrating their achievements this week at our closing ceremony this Friday.
• Mentors and students have enjoyed various activities this week including basketball games, kickball, board games and soccer.
