BLOG POST FOR JULY 28

We’re officially underway at Summer Springboard on the campus of the University of Washington!

Students from across the region and the world arrived in Seattle, kicking off two exciting weeks of learning, exploration and connection. After checking in, settling into the residence halls and meeting their mentors and roommates, students quickly began forming new friendships, energized by shared curiosity and the beautiful, tree-lined UW campus in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. With Mount Rainier in the distance and the iconic Husky spirit in the air, this session is already off to a strong start.

Now it’s time to dive in. Our UW students are gearing up for hands-on academic courses taught by experienced professionals, memorable excursions around Seattle, and True You sessions designed to spark personal growth and future planning.

Whether they’re walking Red Square, collaborating in classrooms, or discovering what motivates them most, this group is ready to take on everything Summer Springboard has to offer. The next two weeks are going to fly by!

BLOG POST FOR JULY 31

Week 1 at University of Washington had us off to a great start!

Our students just completed their first week full of fresh ideas, meaningful challenges and growing friendships. The opening True You workshop helped them dig into their strengths and interests as they began to explore college and career paths. Hands-on academic courses sparked curiosity and encouraged creative thinking, setting the tone for a dynamic learning experience.

Excursions this week offered exciting opportunities to explore beyond the classroom, whether through academic visits or engaging activities.

The group is settling in well, energized and ready for what’s next. With Week 2 ahead, there’s even more learning, growth, and connection to come. We’re excited to see how this journey continues!

Here are some highlights from the first week of the program:

  • Students dived into their academic classes, with students excited to learn more about Aerospace Engineering, UX Design, Foreign Affairs, Psychology & Neuroscience, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • All students received a guided tour of the University of Washington Bookstore, meeting the CEO, and getting awesome goodie bags full of UW swag!
  • Resident students enjoyed a full week of clubs and had fun in their sports club, art & chill club, college essay club, and film/art club!
  • The Foreign Affairs students had an exciting excursion to the Pacific Northwest Economic Region in downtown Seattle.
  • The Pharmaceutical Sciences students explored the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and had a tour where they learned more about exciting research happening at the school!

That’s a wrap on a memorable Summer Springboard experience!

What a journey it’s been on campus. After two incredible weeks of hands-on academic courses, inspiring True You workshops and adventurous weekend excursions, our students have crossed the finish line of an unforgettable Summer Springboard program. They’ve explored new ideas, challenged themselves and made friendships that will last long after they leave campus.

Throughout the program, students gained valuable insight into their college major interests and career aspirations, while reflecting on the kind of learners and future professionals they want to become. From engaging classroom discussions to real-world experiences beyond campus, this summer has been all about growth, discovery and setting the foundation for what’s next.

We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. Here’s to new beginnings and exciting futures ahead!
