Session 5 Is Off to a Great Start!
Welcome to our newest group of Yale scholars! Session 5 kicked off this past weekend and our students have already packed in a city adventure, some serious fun, and their first round of excursions and guest speakers.
Multi Session students traveled to Boston on Saturday! The itinerary took students from Yale to Boston, stopping by the Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum, over to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market for lunch, and on a trolley tour of the city. From there, students took the Red Line out to MIT, hopped two stops over to Harvard, and explored both campuses before sitting down for dinner in Harvard Square. The group then rode the Red Line back to South Station and took the train home to Yale, a full day of history, city sights, and Ivy League campus visits.
Sunday brought some well-earned fun! Students hit laser tag and the arcade, building friendships and team spirit before the academic program officially started. The day wrapped up with our traditional evening Scavenger Hunt Boundary Walk, where students learned the lay of the Yale campus together as one group.
Monday & Tuesday: Excursions & Guest Speakers
Classes launched with a full slate of hands-on learning across both days:
- Medical Research – Guest speaker Caroline Raymond King on Monday, followed by a visit to the Cushing Library and Museum on Tuesday.
- Surgery – Suturing, gowning, gloving, and small office procedures lab on Monday, then a full day at the Center for Education, Simulation & Innovation (CESI) SIM Lab on Tuesday.
- Kinesiology & Physical Therapy – Guest speaker Jen Edwards, OT!
- Fundamentals of Engineering – Walking survey of Edgerton Park on Monday.
- Sports Management – Guest speaker Luke from Lyons Raven Equipment on Monday, then a trip to see the Hartford Yard Goats Minor League team & Dunkin Donut Park on Tuesday.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media РField trip to the Museum of Public Relations in NYC on Monday, complete with a scavenger hunt, followed by guest speaker N. Chlo̩ Nwangwu, Principal Investigator and Director of Nobi Works, on Tuesday.
It’s been an energizing start to Session 5, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the program brings!

Students at Yale are almost finished with their memorable Summer Springboard experience!
What a journey it’s been on campus. After an incredible week of hands-on academic courses, inspiring afternoon activities and adventurous weekend excursions, our students are about to cross the finish line of an unforgettable Summer Springboard program. They’ve explored new ideas, challenged themselves and made friendships that will last long after they leave campus.
Throughout the program, students gained valuable insight into their college major interests and career aspirations, while reflecting on the kind of learners and future professionals they want to become. From engaging classroom discussions to real-world experiences beyond campus, this summer has been all about growth, discovery and setting the foundation for what’s next.
We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. Here’s to new beginnings and exciting futures ahead!
