About This Course
This two-week program is for students who love telling stories and want to explore the world of journalism and broadcasting. Students learn how reporters find stories, interview sources, check facts, and write and present the news for TV, radio, podcasts, and social media. They also get behind the camera to learn the basics of video and audio production. And with the University of Michigan’s legendary athletics program and the iconic Big House just steps away, students also get the chance to cover the sports beat and calling live play-by-play. The course ends with students producing and presenting their own newscast or podcast episode, leaving with skills they can use in any area of media.
