About Middle School Courses

Our middle school one-week program locations include Berkeley, CA, Georgetown, and UC San Diego. These programs combine academic courses, interactive labs, and recreational activities to give students a supportive, fun, and enriching summer experience.

These programs operate separately from Summer Springboard high school programs with separate staff, accommodations, schedules, classes, activities, and a more structured environment.

Business & Entrepreneurship

Course

Are you full of ideas and curious about how businesses get started? Do you dream of creating a product or company of your own? This program gives middle school students the chance to build a business from the ground up, work in teams, and pitch their ideas in a fun Shark Tank–style challenge.

Fundamentals of Engineering

Course

Are you interested in how things are built or dreamed of creating something totally new? This engineering program introduces middle school students to engineering and design through creative, real-world problem-solving. Students will use the design process to build and test projects with everyday materials, developing teamwork, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to see themselves as future innovators.

Junior Architecture

Course

Are you fascinated by buildings, design, and how spaces shape communities? Do you dream of creating structures that inspire and tell stories? This program gives high school students the chance to explore architecture firsthand, blending design principles, sustainability, and hands-on sketching projects.

Junior Diplomat

Course

Are you interested in how can young people help solve global challenges? The Junior Diplomat program invites middle school students to explore the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals through hands-on simulations, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students design a new post-2030 SDG and present their ideas at a final Global Summit, gaining skills to become informed, confident changemakers.

Marine Biology

Are you fascinated by the ocean and the amazing creatures that live beneath the waves? Do you wonder what mysteries still lie undiscovered underwater? This program lets middle school students dive into marine biology through hands-on activities, exciting lessons, and exploring the habitats and challenges of ocean life.

Are you interested in helping people and curious about how doctors save lives? Do you want to learn real medical skills at an early age? This program gives middle school students hands-on experience through fun simulations, teamwork, and practicing techniques like CPR and first aid.

Psychology & Neuroscience

Course

Are you curious about how the brain works and why people think, feel, and act the way they do? Do you wonder what shapes our personalities and emotions? This program introduces middle school students to psychology and neuroscience through fun activities and explorations of the mind, brain, and behavior.

STEM: Exploring Engineering & Clean Energy

Course

Are you excited about science, engineering, and building things that help our planet? Do you wonder how solar energy can power the future? This program gives middle school students the chance to explore STEM through hands-on projects, like designing and racing their own solar-powered cars.

Trial Law

Course

Are you curious about how lawyers argue cases in court? Do you wonder what it’s like to stand before a judge and jury? This program introduces middle school students to the exciting world of trial law through real-world activities and expert guidance.
