About This Course
In this course, students will join the JIA, the Junior Intelligence Agency, and learn the real skills that intelligence agents and detectives use every day. They will crack codes, practice disguise and surveillance, and run forensic tests like fingerprinting and ink analysis. Students will visit the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC and learn how agents protect secrets in a digital world. In their final mission, they will investigate a crime, brief student attorneys on their findings, and testify as expert witnesses in our Middle School Trial Law courtroom.
TOPICS YOU'LL EXPLORE
Hands-on Learning
Agents build cipher wheels, decode secret messages, play observation and surveillance games, and run forensic tests like fingerprinting and ink chromatography. Working in teams, they process real evidence, crack a coded note, and present an intelligence briefing before testifying in court.
Agents learn about careers in intelligence, law enforcement, forensic science, cybersecurity, and law, and how skills like careful observation, clear communication, and critical thinking open doors to all of them.
