Head Teacher Akhil was born in Hyderabad, India, brought up in Nairobi, Kenya and is now building a career in South Africa running two specialist web development companies. He graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a first-class degree in Computer Science and Information Systems as well as a postgraduate qualification. Today, Akhil owns and runs Zaio, which focuses on training and placements for software developers.
His core expertise lies in web development as a Full Stack Developer (React JS and Node JS), having worked in a number of projects (see his Github here). While still a student, he built his skills as a Computer Science tutor at UCT, became Chairperson of the UCT Developer Society, and became an Intel Ambassador. Work aside, Akhil also represented Kenya in cricket and chess.
Teaching Assistant Unam Tsitsa has a BA from University of Cape Town in Media Studies, Dramatic Arts & Religious Studies. She began her career as a CRM Implementation Specialist at Huble Digital South Africa and is currently a Junior Product Marketing Manager for Adhara where she works on creating engaging online social media content and supports the authorship, design and maintenance of core product and solution materials.
