Course Overview
This course presents an introduction to Law and Justice in the U.S. Students will examine the fundamentals of public service within law enforcement where the roles of police, courts, and corrections will be studied. Constitutional and procedural considerations affecting investigations, arrest, and individual rights within the Bill of Rights will be covered. Students will be exposed to many different careers with law enforcement.
Excursions in Los Angeles – Students will visit the Los Angeles Police Department as well as a crime lab and courthouse to see the application of the Law and Justice program in action.

Hands-On Learning
There are nine 3-hour class sessions over the two-week course. During
week one, students have class from 9am-12pm, Monday - Friday.
During the week two students have class from 9am-12pm Monday
through Thursday. Wednesday afternoons are dedicated to additional
academic time (excursions, speakers).
Career Exploration
Students will visit the Los Angeles Police Department as well as a
crime lab and courthouse to see the application of the Law and
Justice program in action.
