Yes. All dormitories have 24-hour security and uses electronic keys to enter each building and dorm room. Cal security is on 24-hour patrol and available to any student that may need assistance during the Berkeley summer camp.

There is one weekend in the middle of the program, residential and extended commuter students will take a tour of San Francisco one Saturday and will go to Great America on Sunday.

No. Beds are made prior to arrival with pillow, pillow case, sheets, blanket, and bedspread. Two towels and a face cloth are provided. Linens and towels are changed weekly.

The Unit 1 dorms do not have air conditioning. However during the summer it is relatively cool, many students open windows at night to stay cool.

Yes, all students will have access to laundry facilities located within the dorm. Machines are coin operated so remember to bring quarters with you! There is no change machine at the dorms.

Located one block from campus, the Unit 1 complex consists of six buildings built around a large courtyard. A central building contains the unit office, mail services, and rooms for meetings, events, and parties, as well as the Academic Services Center.
